Once too close to the sun, crashed head first into dirt. Never found the equilibrium. Wings covered in oil. Shackled to the soil. Stargazing since jealous of my former self, weight of the world grinding my jaw to the curb. Craving for a miracle so that my eyes can see the light. Legs to stand tall. Hands to feel a touch. Heart to overflow. Take control again of my surroundings. Bend them to my will. And I swear before the black altar as I sacrifice the current zeitgeist. I will devour those on top.
